Biography
When people think of India, many have the name Gandhi pop up in their mind. Gandhi was a very powerful and inspirational character of India. He influenced so many individuals and groups such as, Muslims and Hindus. He had changed so many people's lives and is still remembered today for his amazing acts.
Gandhi was born in the middle class and lived a comfortable life as lawyer but found that there was much discrimination toward Hindus. He started writing and making speeches to influence and inspire the people to not stand for the discrimination, but to do it peaceably so the British would have no right to fight against them with brutality. The British still fought violently but Gandhi and his followers held strong and won they battle against the British. Later, Hindus and Muslims fought against each other and made Gandhi take on an eating strike, making the dispute end. People did not agree with Gandhi's ways of peace with the Muslims and thought the only way to stop it was to assassinate him. On January 29, 1948 Gandhi was shot on his way to give a speech.

The bottom piece is a painting with an American flare of a human figure in a wide landscape. They are both very similar pieces of art but only coming from different areas of the world.
NGO
Project Mala is an NGO in India that works to help children obtain an education. they go through a three year course that covers curriculum for grades 1-5. They should be able to read, write, calculate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and also learn respect. They will learn self respect and respect for their environment and social lives. They then move on to a higher class you finish more years of education and if they score high enough they move to a secondary school consisting of the top 30 students to continue their education.
They supply children with food and housing and school supplies for their three years of education. They accept donation from anyone around the world that is willing to help. They accept money, schoolbags, computers, clothing, and classroom desks. They link schools with the rural areas in India with one of our local schools to obtain information to supply the children with. Project Mala wants you give unfortunate children the life they deserve, to have an education, to have social skills, and to have the feeling of success theat everyone should be able to express.
